The passenger spoke about the situation at Dubai airport after the flight delay
The situation at Dubai Airport remains calm, although several flights are delayed, one of the passengers shared with Izvestia on February 28.
He said that his flight to Novosibirsk was postponed for only two hours — from 12:55 to 14:55.
"In principle, the situation is absolutely calm. They don't give you much information. We are flying from Dubai to Novosibirsk. So far, the flight has been tentatively postponed. <...> The airspace is closed," the young man noted.
He added that all passengers of the delayed flights were provided with hot meals at a local fast food outlet.
Explosions occurred in Abu Dhabi and Dubai earlier in the day. Izvestia published footage from the airport in Dubai after the UAE intercepted several missiles launched from Iran. They show that the tourist area is almost empty.
On the same day, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported that Russian airlines had worked out alternative flight routes to the Persian Gulf countries, bypassing the closed airspace of Iran and Israel, and travel time would increase. Aeroflot has already adjusted flight routes to/from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha (charter) and Male - they will bypass Iran on safe routes.
Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran on the morning of February 28. The Reuters news agency said Iran was preparing to retaliate after the strikes on Tehran. American leader Donald Trump announced the start of a US military operation against Iran.
Later, the UAE intercepted several missiles launched from Iran. One person died as a result of falling debris .
