The United Kingdom did not participate in the strikes by the United States and Israel on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This was announced on Saturday afternoon, February 28, by the Sky News channel.

"According to Sky News, the UK was not involved in the strikes by the United States and Israel," the publication says.

The article quotes the words of an unnamed representative of the British government, who stressed that London does not want to see further escalation in this area, as it could escalate into a "broader regional conflict."

Israel launched a preemptive strike on targets in Iran in the morning of the same day as part of an operation dubbed the Yehuda Shield. After that, the attacked side closed its airspace to all types of vessels.

Later, US President Donald Trump confirmed that his country had launched a large-scale military operation against Iran. He stressed that "he will take care to deprive Iran of the opportunity to obtain nuclear weapons."

After a while, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded rocket launches from Iran, directed towards the country. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, part of the Iranian armed forces) has launched a large-scale retaliatory operation against Israel.
