Russian airlines have worked out alternative flight routes to the Persian Gulf countries, bypassing the closed airspace of Iran and Israel, and travel time will increase. This was announced on February 28 by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

"Due to the closure of the airspace of Iran and Israel, Russian airlines, in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency, have worked out in advance bypass flight routes for safe flights to the Persian Gulf countries. Due to the increased distance, flight time will increase," the ministry said in a Telegram channel message.

Flights to Israel and Iran will not be operated temporarily. If necessary, carriers will combine flights and use wide-body aircraft.

Aeroflot has already adjusted flight routes to/from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha (charter) and Male - they will bypass Iran on safe routes. Flights to/from Abu Dhabi on the medium-haul fleet will be operated with an additional landing in Samara for refueling. An increase in travel time will result in the postponement of the departure of return flights by an average of one to two hours. Part of the flights between Moscow/St. Petersburg and Dubai were forcibly canceled .

The decision to close the airspace was made by the aviation authorities of Iran and Israel against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region after Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran.
