The first Tatarstan national team won gold in the mixed relay at the Russian Ski Racing Championships in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. This was announced on February 28 by the Russian Ski Racing Federation.
The winners included Lidia Gorbunova, Alexander Bolshunov, Veronika Stepanova and Sergey Ardashev. The quartet finished with a score of 58 minutes 58.0 seconds.
The silver medals were won by the Leningrad Region-1 team (Elizaveta Maslakova, Ilya Tregubov, Ekaterina Bulycheva and Alexander Bakurov), which lost 1 minute and 60 seconds to the leaders.
Representatives of Tyumen Region-1 Alisa Zhambalova, Alexey Chervotkin, Elizaveta Pantrina and Alexander Terentyev rounded out the top three winners. Their lag was exactly 2 minutes.
Skier Sergey Ardashev won the skiathlon at the Russian Championships on February 26. He covered the distance of 20 km in 47 minutes and 29.9 seconds.
The second place was taken by Egor Mitroshin, who was only 0.1 seconds behind the leader. Andrey Kuznetsov is on the third line, 0.3 seconds behind the winner. Three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov rounded out the top five. The Russian Championship in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk will last until March 8.
