Iran has closed its airspace amid Israeli attacks
Iran has completely closed its airspace to all types of aircraft for six hours. This was reported on February 28 by the Mehr news agency, citing the press secretary of the Civil Aviation Organization, Majid Ahvan.
"The airspace of the entire country was closed for six hours," the agency's Telegram channel said.
It is specified that the flight ban will last until 15:00 Moscow time.
On the same day, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced a preemptive strike on Iran. The Fars news agency reported that the strike was carried out on Tehran — a thick column of smoke rose into the sky. Israeli rockets hit Daneshgah Avenue and the Jomhuri area in Tehran.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on February 19 that Russia sees an "unprecedented escalation" around Iran and hopes for a diplomatic solution to the conflict with the United States.
