Finland has announced a possible repetition of Ukraine's path by the country

Finland can repeat the path of Ukraine, the future of the state looks "not good" in economic and geopolitical terms. This was announced on February 28 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish Freedom Alliance party.

"Finland's future does not look good either economically or geopolitically. The country may soon become a second Ukraine, continuing its hostile policy against Russia," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, Finland's economy has faced a number of serious problems after severing ties with Russia. He added that the eastern part of the state is experiencing a shock after the closure of the border with the Russian side, and the planned creation of a special economic zone in the region will not help improve the situation.

In addition, Mema noted that in the border areas, the unemployment rate can reach 20%, while in the rest of the country it remains around 10%.

They do not plan to demolish it even after the settlement in Ukraine, although the republic is experiencing a crisis due to the severance of ties with Moscow.

Russian Ambassador to Helsinki Pavel Kuznetsov said on February 14 that the Finnish region of South Karelia is losing up to €1 million a day without Russian tourism. The diplomat stressed that the absence of tourists from the Russian Federation has a particularly negative impact on the regions of the east and north of Finland.

On January 15, former Finnish Foreign Minister Paavo Vyaryunen called for opening the border with Russia to improve the economic situation in the country. According to him, such a step will attract many tourists to the country, adding that the closure of the border has damaged the hotel and restaurant business.
