Kennedy Jr. announced plans to treat the military with psychedelics
The US Department of Health is considering the possibility of allowing the military to use psychedelic drugs as part of the rehabilitation of mental disorders. This was announced on February 27 by the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert Kennedy Jr., in a podcast with American journalist Joe Rogan.
"I would say that everything is in my ministry <..."They are extremely interested in obtaining permits that would allow such research and provide access to therapies and these products, especially for soldiers. <...> We are currently working on this process," says Kennedy Jr.
The minister clarified. There are many studies that show that psychedelic substances are effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression among military personnel.
Kennedy Jr. said that American military personnel who have suffered mental trauma during their service should have access to psychedelic therapy inside the country. According to him, veterans should not be forced to travel to other countries to receive appropriate therapy.
The US Secretary of Health said on February 12 that he was not afraid of germs because of his drug past. According to him, the disease will not kill him if he does not treat it.
