On the eve of March 8, fraudsters intensified, using a scheme with fake delivery of flowers ordered by a "secret admirer" to extort money and personal data. This was announced on February 28 by Angara Security experts.

"Schemes related to the delivery of flowers and gifts from alleged "relatives" or "secret admirers" are gaining particular popularity. The victim is asked to confirm the address and provide the SMS code for the courier, click on the link to "track the track" or install the delivery service application, RIA Novosti quoted experts as saying.

Angara Security noted that during this period there was a sharp increase in fake websites imitating the pages of popular online stores on the Internet and messengers. Scammers lure victims with "unique offers" and discounts that disappear after payment for a non-existent product, leaving the buyer without money and without a gift.

In addition, the number of online dating scams is on the rise. For example, a victim who is ready to continue communicating after meeting online is offered to pay for her way or buy tickets for a "cultural date", promising to refund the money upon meeting. As a result, the victim receives a link to a fake payment service, which leads to the theft of banking details and repeated debits of funds.

Earlier, on February 26, it was reported that fraudsters began using a new deception scheme, calling Russians through messengers, posing as neighbors and trying to lure codes from SMS under the pretext of replacing the intercom. This is how attackers gain access to personal data or banking services.
