- A fighter of the Russian Armed Forces spoke about helping frontline residents of the LPR during floods
Soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation help residents of the frontline strip in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) to get to their homes when the river floods and protect the crossing from Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was announced on February 28 by a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces with the call sign Inspector.
There are a number of specific problems in places close to the war zone, including flooding due to the onset of spring weather. As noted by Izvestia correspondent Stanislav Grigoriev, Russian military personnel organized a crossing for civilians. They carry them on boats and protect the route from the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"Since this is a crowded place, electronic warfare systems have also been provided at this point, and air defense forces are also deployed, that is, military police personnel with rifles and shotguns, who are ready to provide protection from unmanned aerial vehicles at a critical moment," the Inspector said.
Alexander Cherevaty, head of the regional Department of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations, noted that there had not been a similar flood situation in the last 15 years. According to him, at the moment the water level is declining.
On February 18, Izvestia showed footage of the evacuation of residents of the liberated Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov by soldiers of the fifth main Command post (OKP) of the 51st Army together with the Popular Front. People were taken out of the danger zone, despite shelling from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and placed in Selidovo, where volunteers from the Popular Front delivered more than 3,000 aid kits.
