Alexey Kostylev, the former editor-in-chief of the Readovka publication, was detained on charges of fraud, he is charged with embezzlement of 1 billion rubles from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. This was reported on February 27 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
Kostylev was detained on February 25. He was charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on an especially large scale").
On February 20, law enforcement agencies reported that Alexander Tararykin, head of the Department for Cossack Affairs, Military Affairs and work with pre-conscription youth in the Krasnodar Territory, was detained by FSB officers in the region. He is suspected of abuse of authority in the development of the budget allocated under the state program "Cossacks of Kuban". The damage to the budget is estimated at 15 million rubles.
