Sadikov: fatal poisoning cases among Russians on Phu Quoc Island

Several Russians died in December 2025 on the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc due to infections, including amoebic meningoencephalitis. This was announced on February 28 by the Consul General of Russia in Ho Chi Minh Timur Sadikov.
"The Consulate General often receives information about appeals from Russian tourists and compatriots permanently residing here to medical institutions complaining of food poisoning and more serious illnesses. A number of deaths have been reported," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
