Tutberidze called Petrosyan's judging at the Olympics generous
Honored Russian Figure Skating coach Eteri Tutberidze said on February 27 that Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan was "judged generously" at the 2026 Olympics in Milan.
"If you want to be stronger, to fight for the podium, you need to do ultra-si. If you had made one sheepskin coat (four—piece), then she would have been in third place <...>. If you had made two sheepskin coats and a clean rental, that would have been the first place," Sport—Express quotes her as saying.
It is clarified that the rejection of complex elements in favor of purity of execution would not have changed the final assessment. According to Tutberidze, without ulta-si, Petrosyan would not have gained an advantage at the box office and could have been even lower in the final table.
According to Tutberidze, in domestic competitions, the athlete was not given the fourth level of the step track, since Russian judges evaluate the elements more strictly.
The figure skater took the sixth place in the singles competition. In the free program, she made a fall on a quadruple sheepskin coat, as a result of which she scored 214.53 points for two programs.
On February 27, the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) published the lists of participants of the Russian Grand Prix final. Petrosyan will not compete. Petrosyan's last name is missing from the application. In men's single skating, figure skater Pyotr Humennik joined the participants.
