In the Netherlands, it is necessary to create about 38,000 additional places to accommodate refugees. This was announced on February 27 by the NOS television and radio company with reference to the forecast of the new Minister for Asylum and Migration, Bart van den Brink.

"It is expected that by the middle of 2027, 88 thousand places will be needed in the Netherlands. At the beginning of this month, there were about 77.5 thousand places for asylum seekers, but more than 27 thousand of them will expire in the near future. This means that almost 38,000 jobs will have to be sold in the next year and a half," the publication says.

The forecast was prepared within the framework of the law on the distribution of refugees, which regulates their placement on the territory of the country. The document sets out how many people each municipality should accept.

It is specified that the provinces have been given until the beginning of December to distribute quotas between municipalities, after which the local authorities will have more than six months to organize the necessary accommodation.
