In Russia, prices for cucumbers are expected to decrease further as daylight hours increase. This was announced on February 27 by the Chairman of the Presidium of the Association of Omnichannel Retail Companies (ACORT). Stanislav Bogdanov.

"As daylight continues to increase, we should expect a continued decline in prices for cucumbers," Bogdanov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He also stressed that the data from federal retail chains confirm the downward trend in prices: over the past week, the minimum cost of cucumbers in chain stores decreased by an average of 7.5%, amounting to 266 rubles per kg.

A representative of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) told Izvestia on February 20 that the agency had sent requests to 11 major retailers regarding pricing of socially important goods, including milk and butter. In case of detection of signs of violation of antimonopoly legislation, the agency will take measures.
