Italy's Financial Guard says brown bear skull is being smuggled
On February 27, employees of the Italian Financial Guard stopped the illegal import of a brown bear skull, which was being transported under the guise of a hunting trophy from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"The skull of a brown bear was seized at the Malpensa airport," the agency said on its Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
During the inspection, the cargo did not have the necessary documents and was not listed in the declaration. This is a violation of the Washington Convention of 1973, which establishes rules for international trade in rare and endangered species of flora and fauna.
A protocol has been drawn up on the violation. The seized skull is awaiting confiscation, after which it is planned to be placed at the disposal of museums or scientific organizations.
British customs seized almost 240,000 fake labuba toys before Christmas on December 25 last year. Employees have increased the inspection of shipments before the holiday, as three quarters of counterfeit toys have not passed safety checks. In addition to the labubu, the border guard service seized a number of other electrical goods.
