The weather forecaster spoke about the weather in Moscow and the region in early March

Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told what kind of weather is expected in Moscow and the Moscow region in early March.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Friday, February 27, he noted that the first day of spring would bring the long-awaited, albeit slight, warming to residents of the capital region: temperatures would rise above zero, and the snow would begin to melt gradually, although this process would be intermittent.

According to forecaster Shuvalov, on March 1, an almost spring warming of up to +4 degrees is expected in central Russia, but then slight frosts will return for a few days, which is typical for early March, when spring does not come immediately.

The expert noted that severe night frosts are not expected in the near future. According to him, the night temperature in Moscow will stay around zero, which is considered quite mild weather for this time of year. Shuvalov added that the beginning of March gives reason to expect the imminent arrival of spring.

In early March, the temperature in central Russia may already be above zero

On the same day, Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, warned in an interview with the Moscow City News agency that after a brief thaw in the first days of March, a cold snap is expected in Moscow next week, with night temperatures dropping to -9 degrees in some places.

Also on February 27, the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation said that icy rain and other precipitation are possible in Central Russia in the next three days due to the passage of a warm atmospheric front. In addition, precipitation is expected in the form of snow and sleet, which will gradually turn into rain.
