A bill on insurance of funds in electronic wallets has been submitted to the State Duma

A bill has been submitted to the State Duma on the introduction of a mandatory insurance system for funds in electronic wallets. The document was published on February 27 on the official Internet portal of the legislative support system.

The initiative involves the extension of an insurance system similar to bank deposits to electronic money. The amendments affect the laws "On Deposit Insurance in banks of the Russian Federation" and "On Insolvency (Bankruptcy)". The bill was sponsored by Senators Nikolai Zhuravlev, Mukharbiy Ulbashev, Anatoly Artamonov, Marina Sidukhina, Sergey Karyakin, as well as State Duma deputies.
