In the Siberian Tiger park in northeastern China, almost 200 animals have been put on a rotating "interval starvation" program after a sharp increase in feeding during the Chinese New Year celebrations. This was reported on February 23 in the Global Times magazine.

The Siberian Tiger Park, located on an area of 800,000 square meters in Heilongjiang, has introduced a rotational fasting program to ensure the health and welfare of animals. According to the official notification, from February 1 to March 31, every day one of the 11 enclosures with tigers will be included in the list of "starving" — on this day it is forbidden to feed animals with meat strips.

As specified, the program is part of the scientific management of the tiger population. It allows you to optimize the feeding regime with an increase in tourist activity, while providing visitors with the opportunity to observe the feeding.

In addition, the rotational starvation program can be adjusted depending on operational and feeding needs, while visitors must follow the rules of the park to protect animal health.

On January 20, the Daily Mail newspaper told about Veronika the cow from Austria, who was recognized as the smartest for her back scratching skills. It was clarified that the animal had learned to use an ordinary stick for these purposes. In addition, the cow can recognize the voices of its family members.
