Experts talked about the main trends of 2026
Moscow Fashion Week will be held from March 14 to March 19 at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall. Stylists, fashion experts and other industry professionals expect to see more interesting, bold solutions, creative cuts and rebellious designs in the collections of participating designers. Voluminous shoulders and narrow waists, dresses made of flowing fabrics, raincoats with a complex cut and leather suits are elements that, according to experts, will become the main trends on the catwalk of Moscow Fashion Week.
On the eve of the event, experts talked about the main trends of 2026. Femininity and sophisticated silhouettes, textured knitwear, soft sheen of silk, ornamental textures, combinations with soft white — the main color of the year according to Pantone — leading industry professionals Lina Dembikova, Tamara Ramazanova and Yana Starikova spoke about the key trends of the year.
After several seasons of the popularity of oversize and smart casual, linen style will return to the spotlight in 2026, according to stylist, TV presenter, founder of the AVA Academy of Visual Arts, as well as Lina Dembikova, the Selection concept store. Lace underwear with a white shirt and a fur bolero, colored underwear over beige bodysuits and longsleeves made of mesh are new stylish combinations that will appeal to any woman who wants to show her freedom.
Continuing the trends of 2025, soft shine and delicate fabrics — silk, satin, chiffon - remain relevant this season, creating the effect of haze, clouds, fog or, conversely, wet fabric. Dembikova recommended integrating products made of such materials into images with a fitted silhouette, and bulky balloon trousers will help add contrast or complicate the image. Ramazanova also suggested sticking to contrast in the images: combining lace with fur, leather, taffeta or other hard fabrics.
Among the trends that will remain in 2025, Ramazanova noted oversize, logomania, Y2K and any styles with the "core" postfix. Stylist Yana Starikova, whose clients include Olesya Ivanchenko and Olga Parfenyuk, also considers verified, collected images to be outdated trends.
"There is a trend towards relaxation on the catwalks, for example, combinations of classic suits and flip-flops. Also, in 2026, it is not recommended to overload images with jewelry and accessories," the specialist emphasized.
"Moscow Fashion Week gathers designers from all over the country, and our country is gigantic. And it is clear that Moscow designers and, say, designers from Yakutia see the world differently, and therefore their views on fashion and clothing are different. But Moscow Fashion Week gives us the opportunity to see all these different approaches in one place, at the same time, and from this "cross—pollination" a new feeling is born, which then turns into a trend or, more broadly, into a new lifestyle," said Olga Mikhailovskaya, Chairman of the Expert Council of Moscow Fashion Week.
Guests of the event will be able to attend screenings, a market and a showroom, lectures by experts and a festival of short films about fashion World Fashion Shorts. Accreditation for media representatives, bloggers, photographers, videographers, stylists and buyers has already been opened on the official website of Moscow Fashion Week. The organizer of the Moscow Fashion Week is the Fashion Foundation with the support of the Moscow government.
