Alyona Gavrilova, a member of the Association of Somnologists, a doctor at the sleep medicine department, told how to quickly get rid of drowsiness.

In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, February 27, the specialist noted that the most effective way to tone the body is physical activity: muscle work helps the brain to "wake up" faster. She advised that if you feel sleepy, you should get up and walk a little — along the corridor, in the office, or at least around your desk. The doctor also recommended using the stairs, noting that climbing and descending the stairs give a more intense load and activate the nervous system faster.

If there is no opportunity for a full-fledged warm-up, the specialist advises using temperature factors. According to her, it is worth opening the window and ventilating the room, because cool air helps the body to switch, and washing with cool water gives a quick invigorating effect.

Gavrilova emphasized that such methods work best in the morning. The doctor recommended resorting to similar methods of "emergency" vigor before 3 p.m., so as not to disrupt the natural sleep cycles in the evening.

Internist Olga Sivaeva said on February 24 that after eating fast carbohydrates, including sweet ones, there is a spike in insulin in the blood, which can make you feel drowsy. As specified, after eating, especially copious meals, the production of the hormone orexin, associated with cheerfulness, decreases, writes Moscow 24. She added that the reason for severe drowsiness after lunch may be a disturbed metabolism, according to the Moscow City News agency.
