The Ukrainian authorities are considering the possibility of creating joint consortia with Western partners that will produce new air defense systems. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on February 27.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov said he had already discussed the idea of creating joint air defense enterprises with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. However, in order to advance the creation of such enterprises, "a specific project is needed, since mathematical calculations are complex and take time."

Nevertheless, Fedorov noted that Ukraine "has significant potential" for the independent production of missile defense systems and missile defense systems and said that Kiev should develop "its own capabilities," despite the desire for close cooperation with Western countries.
