A record for gas consumption has been set in the Moscow region

In the first two months of 2026, a record volume of gas consumption was registered in the Moscow Region. This was announced by the Ministry of Energy of the region.

In total, consumers used 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Over 4.1 billion cubic meters of gas were used during the same period in 2025. This is reported by the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya.

About 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas accounted for boiler houses that supply heat to settlements. Another 1.5 billion cubic meters were used by citizens for heating houses, hot water and cooking.

Industrial consumption accounted for 1.1 billion cubic meters of gas. About 600 commercial facilities are connected to gas every year in the Moscow region.
