On February 27, the Higher Qualification Board of Judges (HCCC) agreed to initiate criminal proceedings against two judges from Dagestan and Ingushetia. This was reported to TASS by the press service of the Supreme Court of Russia.

Sultan Azizov, a retired Dagestani judge, is suspected of accepting a bribe of 2 million rubles (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as illegal acquisition, possession and transportation of drugs (part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and illegal acquisition and storage of weapons (part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In addition, a criminal case will be initiated against Judge Hamid Murzabekov of the Magassky District Court of Ingushetia. According to the investigation, he made two unlawful decisions (Part 1 of Article 305 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), relieving the commercial organization of administrative responsibility.

On February 13, the HCCC allowed Adam Voitlev, a retired judge of the Shovgenovsky District Court of the Republic of Adygea, to be detained. He was charged with accepting a particularly large bribe. Voitlev's whereabouts are still unknown.

According to the investigation, he, acting as chairman of the court, received a bribe of 2.5 million rubles from the defendant through an intermediary. For a reward, Voitlev promised to help with the return of the case to the prosecutor's office and to remove the arrest from the defendant's property.
