Yandex has patented a brand for autonomous trucks

Yandex will create a separate brand for autonomous Robotrak trucks. The corresponding application appeared in the Rospatent database, <url> magazine found out on February 27.

During the year, the company plans to increase its fleet of autonomous trucks. Yandex plans to scale the technology to new highways and expand cooperation with industrial and trading companies.

The Robotrak trademark applies to software and digital platforms, automatic vehicle control systems, autonomous and unmanned trucks. also, cargo transportation and logistics services, as well as artificial intelligence services.

Yandex trucks are already driving along the M-4 and M-11 highways, as well as along the Central Ring Road. During the year, the IT giant intends to launch 70 more autonomous trucks.

Earlier, the company applied for registration of the YArobotaxi and Yandex Robotaxi trademarks. It is expected that up to 200 autonomous passenger cars will be on the roads by the end of the year.

We are talking about WATS of the second category, for such vehicles, control can be completely entrusted to automation with "remote routing", and the presence of a person in the cabin is optional. The appearance of such cars on the roads is expected in 2026.
