More than 100 raised platforms have been installed at Moscow tram stops in a year. They appeared in the Lefortovo area, on Sudostroitelnaya and Pervomaiskaya streets and in other areas of the city, said Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy mayor for Transport and Industry.

More than half of the new stops used to be located on the roadway. Due to the changes, boarding and disembarking from the tram have become safer and more convenient. The project was implemented jointly with the Municipal Economy Complex, the press service of the Moscow Transport Complex reported.

"We are creating an accessible and safe urban environment according to the task of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. A significant step in this direction is the construction of raised platforms that allow passengers to comfortably and safely enter and exit the tram," Liksutov said. He stressed that this is especially important for passengers with limited mobility. "There are more than 530 such platforms in the capital today. Most of them are equipped instead of stops on the roadway, which significantly reduces the risk of accidents," the deputy mayor added.

The raised platforms are located on the same level as the low floor of the tram, which reduces the boarding and disembarkation time by half — from one minute to 20-30 seconds. This is especially important for passengers with reduced mobility, the elderly, and parents with strollers.

In 2025, raised platforms appeared on Trifonovskaya, Boris Galushkin, Millionnaya, Preobrazhensky and Izmailovsky Val streets. The stops at Krasnokazarmennaya, 3rd Vladimirskaya, Kalanchevskaya, Durova and others have also changed.
