- Moscow will participate in the modernization of 10 stations of the Moscow Railway
Moscow will participate in the modernization of 10 stations of the Yaroslavl and Paveletsky directions of the Moscow Railways. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in the MAX.
The project is being implemented by JSC Tsentralnaya PPK jointly with the government of Moscow. According to the mayor, the work program for 2026-2027 includes four stations of the Yaroslavl direction (Malenkovskaya, Yauza, Losinoostrovskaya and Los) and six stations of the Paveletsky direction (Biryulyovo-Tovarnaya, Chertanovo, Varshavskaya, Nagatinskaya, Tulskaya and Derbenevskaya).
According to Sobyanin, the modernization will be carried out according to Moscow transport standards. As a result, the stations will become "much more comfortable for passengers": there will be modern infrastructure, canopies along the entire length of the platforms, convenient navigation and improved lighting. It is also planned to upgrade the platforms, entrances and turnstiles.
"We will integrate the stations into a single transport system of the city, with the organization of fast and comfortable transfers to other modes of transport," the mayor said. It is also planned to improve the surrounding areas: land transport stops will be moved closer to the station entrances, and safe roadways will be equipped. These events will improve the quality of travel for passengers and improve the transport accessibility of the stations. In total, the changes will make travel more convenient for more than a million residents of the surrounding areas, Sobyanin said.
The day before, the mayor spoke about plans to develop the railway transport system in the capital. In particular, it is planned to complete the large—scale modernization of Leningradsky railway Station, continue the formation of new transfer hubs and the creation of comfortable city stations - Moscow City, Sickle and Hammer, Begovaya, Tsaritsyno and Zheleznodorozhnaya.
Today, the network of four IDCs includes 138 stations. Since its opening, over 1.6 billion trips have been made on the Moscow Central Diameters. Passenger traffic has increased by 34% since 2019.
