The IV Forum of Future Technologies has completed its work in Moscow. In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the forum was dedicated to the formation of bioeconomics in the country and the use of biotechnologies in economic sectors.

The central event of the forum was the plenary session, at which Vladimir Putin spoke. In his speech, the Head of state touched upon the development of biotechnologies and bioeconomics in the country.

"This year we have started the implementation of a national bioeconomy project. His fundamental task is to ensure sovereignty in a number of critical areas in this area, and where we already have the potential and reserves, to take a leading position," the president said.

In addition to participating in the plenary session, the head of state visited the exhibition, where developments and the latest innovative solutions in the field of bioeconomics were presented, and visited the stands of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Kurchatov Institute, the FMBA, Gazprombank, the Russian Science Foundation, Tatneft and Rosatom. Vladimir Putin also held a meeting with scientists.

"The Future Technologies Forum has once again demonstrated a high level of interest from the scientific community, business and government, as well as representative international participation. The forum gathered more than 1,800 participants from Russia and 57 foreign countries and territories, including more than 260 representatives of Russian and foreign businesses from more than 120 companies. Bioeconomics has become a focus of a separate national project this year. We see great interest from foreign partners and businesses in this new and promising industry. And it's not for nothing. Perhaps only Russia, China and the United States today have all the necessary competencies in order to develop this scientific field and step into a new technological order. And this is a ticket to the future and a driver for the development and launch of related industries.: Agriculture, industrial biotechnology, biomedicine, bionics, forestry and fisheries, processing. It is the task of the state to ensure the conditions for the transition to a new technological regime, and it is the task of the Roscongress Foundation as an institute for development to properly accumulate competencies, including through the organization of such platforms as the FBT," commented Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Future Technologies Forum.

During the plenary session, a discussion was held, which was attended by Vera Vil, Head of the Laboratory of Chemistry of Industrially Useful Products at the Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Dmitriev, Chairman of the Management Board of Norkem Holding JSC, Yulia Dyakova, Director of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, Director of the Phystech School of Biological and Medical Physics at Moscow State University. Institute of Physics and Technology (National Research University) Denis Kuzmin, Deputy Head of the Scientific Research Department for Modeling Continuum Mechanics Problems at the Russian Federal Nuclear Center - All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics (Rosatom State Corporation) Dmitry Linnik. The moderator was Dmitry Sauers, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprombank JSC.

The Forum of Future Technologies was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who also got acquainted with the exhibition of technological achievements, where the largest corporations and high-tech enterprises presented their advanced developments and the latest innovative solutions in the field of bioeconomics. During the plenary session, Chernyshenko stressed the importance of fundamental research in the field of artificial intelligence.

"Just a year ago, here at the Forum of Future Technologies, our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said that artificial intelligence technologies are revolutionary for change — then it was about chemistry and new materials. Now we can continue this series, because these are serious changes for the bioeconomy," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

He also highlighted energy efficiency as a task that science must solve.

"We are counting on our fundamental science. Although the focus is now on early implementation, it is important to do both at the same time. Thanks to our President, who launched an international foresight in the field of AI," Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

As part of the FBT-2026 business program, more than 30 thematic sessions and panel discussions were held with the participation of more than 180 speakers and moderators. The program was formed around four key areas: "Technology: bioevolution", "Man: a new habitat", "Industries: sustainable development" and "Ecosystem: society strategy".

As part of the track of the business program "Technologies: Bioevolution", participants discussed the use of artificial intelligence in the pharmaceutical, medical and agro-industrial sectors, additive biotechnologies, biopharmaceuticals of the future, as well as synthetic biology and nuclear technologies used in many areas of bioeconomy. The sessions on "Man: a new habitat" focus on issues of food security, the application of bioeconomics in agriculture and the food industry, closed—loop bioindustry, bioregenerative life support systems and high-tech settlements organized on the principles of bioeconomics.
