A meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the XI WEF was held

A meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the XI Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), which will be held from September 1 to 4 in Vladivostok, took place in Moscow.

"The Eastern Economic Forum is being held under the leadership of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and gives an impetus to the development of the Far Eastern territory. Today, more than 3,000 investment projects totaling 13.5 trillion rubles are being implemented in the Far East, of which 6 trillion rubles have actually been invested, of which 1 trillion rubles have been invested over the past year, and this is an important result that has been achieved in an environment where a significant number of unfriendly countries are trying to hinder us. As part of these investment projects, more than 1,000 enterprises have been commissioned and more than 180,000 jobs have been created. Last year, the WEF was attended by more than 8,000 participants from 75 countries. We continue to communicate with our international partners and develop the Far East and Russia," Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the WEF Organizing Committee, opened the meeting.

During the meeting, general aspects of the preparation of the forum were discussed, including the content of its business program, as well as the preparation of urban infrastructure.

"The Eastern Economic Forum today is one of the key instruments for the development of the Far East and an important platform for the implementation of national development goals. In 2026, which has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia in our country, the forum will pay special attention to the humanitarian dimension of development. The Soul of Russia project, which has already been presented at the anniversary EEF, will combine traditions, modern ideas and cultural diversity of the country's peoples, and reveal the peculiarities of our multinational country through the creative cluster. This will strengthen the position of the Far East as a center of interaction between cultures and civilizations of the Asia-Pacific region," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Executive Secretary.

The participants of the Organizing Committee discussed the topics of the upcoming event.

"Ten years is already a good time to take stock. One of the topics will be related to the analysis of the implementation of the President's instructions, which were given following the results of previous forums. We are holding the WEF not for the sake of the forum itself, but for the sake of achieving results. The result is formulated by the instructions of the head of state. The second important point is technological development. Today, the development of the Far East and the whole country is impossible without the development of technology," Trutnev said.

In addition, among the directions of the business program, it was proposed to highlight issues of energy and transport infrastructure development, discuss mechanisms for attracting private investment and government support measures, and aspects of personnel policy. Special attention is planned to be paid to the implementation of master plans for Far Eastern cities and improving the quality of life of the population. Traditionally, it is planned to organize industry business sessions to discuss the implementation of investment projects.

On the opening day of the WEF, the IV International Forum "Falcon Day" will be held, which has already become a prominent component of the forum. Traditionally, the Far East Street exhibition will be held, demonstrating the achievements, uniqueness of culture, customs, cuisine of the regions of the Russian Far East and their economic potential. The WEF is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The international sports component will be strengthened at the WEF-2026. For the fifth time, the WEF sail parade will be held, which will bring together more than 1,000 sailors and young yachtsmen in the Amur Bay, including foreign professional yachtsmen from China and other friendly countries.
