Last year, accidents on scooters decreased in Russia, Ingosstrakh reported following a joint study with the Yrent rental service.

According to experts, the number of insured events per kilometer of travel has fallen by 25%: if in June-December 2024 one insured event accounted for 562 thousand km, then in 2025 — by 751 thousand km. At the same time, the total distance of trips on scooters of the Yrent service amounted to 178 million km in the first seven months of the year, which is 12% more than in the same period of the previous year.

"We see a steady trend towards a decrease in accidents while increasing the volume of trips. The market for personal mobility equipment is becoming more mature: users are taking a more responsible approach to scooter management and are more likely to choose extended insurance coverage. It is important for us and our partners, in addition to ensuring financial coverage of risks, to create a culture of safe mobility in cities," said Vladimir Khrabrikh, Deputy General Director for Retail Business at Ingosstrakh.

Experts believe that the formation of a stable positive trend is primarily due to the growth of user experience in managing electric scooters, as well as the systematic work of kicksharing operators to improve ride safety. Such measures include penalties for violations, the introduction of user ratings, as well as traffic rules training programs.

Ingosstrakh became an insurance partner of the Yrent electric scooter rental service in 2023. Users of the service automatically receive insurance protection against accidents during the trip and civil liability to third parties.
