A permanent volunteer corps will be created in Moscow to help the capital's ornithologists. The first training session will be held on March 14, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"Several training meetings with experts are planned during March and April. Participants will be taught to recognize different types of animals and plants that can be found in the capital," Sergunina said.

In addition, specialists from the Moscow Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection will tell you how to properly keep records of representatives of flora and fauna.

In May, graduates of the program will help count birds for the first time, and in the future they will do it on their own every season.

Citizens over the age of 14 can join the corps. Registration is open on the Mosvolonter website.

Environmental volunteerism is one of the five most popular areas of the volunteer movement. So, as part of the "Feed the Bird" campaign, about a ton of feed was collected this winter. The Dobro Mesto regional centers regularly hold workshops on making birdhouses and feeders and organize educational games.
