Moscow activists handed over more than 20 thousand books to their fighters.
More than 20 thousand books about military life have been sent by volunteers since the beginning of the special military operation. The publications are sent both to the front line and to hospitals where fighters undergo rehabilitation. The last few hundred books have been delivered to the Central Military Clinical Hospital named after A.A. Vishnevsky, the press service of the Prefecture of the Central Administrative District of Moscow reported.
The project to create books about SVR is aimed at uniting and supporting contemporary authors who write about the modern history of Russia. Volunteers help to find such works. Every year, the project publishes three or four editions with a circulation of up to 3 thousand copies. Each collection includes stories and poems by members of the military, doctors and volunteers. The series of rustic prose "To be remembered..." includes notes by participants in the events of 2022-2024, and a book with materials for 2025 is being prepared. Earlier, the collections "Rocket Danger" — about the life of border towns and "To live" — about the work of doctors in the free zone were sent to the front and to hospitals.
The aim of the project is not only to support the morale of the special operation participants, but also to preserve the memory of current events for future generations, said volunteer and journalist Oleg Leonov at a meeting with youth activists of the district. He told how in 2023, after reading the book, a fighter in the Podolsk hospital told the volunteers: "They have already written about us, so it was not in vain!"
The meeting also summed up the work of the youth chambers of the Central Administrative District. For example, activists of the youth chamber of the Moscow Yakimanka district, led by Chairman Nadezhda Moskovkina, have been implementing the Ray of Hope project for more than two years, aimed at supporting the families of soldiers of a special military operation. Volunteers also organize various activities for children and the elderly, and take care of animals in shelters. Since the beginning of the project, more than 2.4 thousand people have received assistance, in total, activists have held 15 charity events.
