The incident with the boat off the coast of Cuba can be called an "aggressive provocation by the United States" aimed at escalating the situation and detonating the conflict. This was announced on February 26 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
On February 25, Reuters reported that an American boat entered the waters of Cuba and opened fire on border guards. As a result of the incident, four people were killed and six others were injured. At the same time, Carlos Jimenez, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, called for an immediate investigation into the incident.
