New GOST for beer will be introduced in Russia from 2027

GOST for beer 2012 will be replaced next year by a new standard that expands the possibilities of using different types of malt in the creation of this foamy drink. This was announced on February 26 by Elena Myasnikova, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Food Technology and Bioengineering at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

"On January 1, 2027, a new national standard comes into force — GOST R 72295-2025 "Beer. General technical conditions", which will lead to changes in the world of Russian brewing. It will replace the outdated 2012 standard," she said in an interview with TASS.
