The case of IQ Plastique surgeons accused of patient's death has been dismissed
The Savelovsky District Court of Moscow dismissed the criminal case against Ilya Yelagin and Tamerlan Kadzaev, surgeons at the IQ Plastique Aesthetic Medicine Clinic. This was reported on February 25 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.
It is noted that the doctors were accused of causing death by negligence due to improper performance of their professional duties.
"The criminal case was submitted to the court 20 days before the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution, in connection with which the court issued a private decision to the preliminary investigation body," the Telegram channel said.
On February 3, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office announced the completion of the investigation. According to the investigation, Yelagin and Kazaev performed improper treatment of a patient who had signed a contract with the clinic for weight loss surgery worth more than 300 thousand rubles.
In April 2025, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest against the defendants. According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the doctors showed indifference to the patient after the operation, which led to the tragedy. The man became ill the next day after the surgery. He underwent another operation, but could not be saved — the patient fell into a coma and died in another hospital.
