The prosecutor requested 12 years in prison for the former chairman of the board of directors of the Moscow football club (FC) Lokomotiv Sergey Lipatov in the case of contract killings. This was reported to Izvestia on February 25 in the Odintsovo City Court of the Moscow region.

According to investigators, in 2002 Lipatov handed over money to accomplices for the murder of Igor Fominov, director of the Inyurconsult law firm and adviser to the Minister of Railways of the Russian Federation.

They were Alexey Chebotarev, an ex-employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Pavel Khristev, a former serviceman, and Leonid Rakogon, a former employee of the 5th department of the regional Directorate for combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

In January, Lipatov fully admitted his guilt in the contract killings case. In the same month, the ex-head of the board of directors of Lokomotiv was accused of organizing the murders.

During the court session on February 12, Lipatov apologized to the family of the murdered man on his order. His lawyer also said that the defendant had sent monetary compensation to the widow and daughter of the murdered man as compensation for moral damage.
