- The exhibition "Beauty Saves the World" will open at the Victory Museum on March 5
The exhibition "Beauty Saves the World", dedicated to International Women's Day, will open at the Victory Museum on March 5. The exhibition will feature paintings from different eras, from canvases from the late 19th century, paintings by front—line artists to works by modern authors.
"The Beauty Saves the World exhibition is a journey through time, where flowers are presented as a link between epochs. They remind us that, despite all the trials, life goes on, and beauty is not just an ornament, but a source of inner support and the will to live. Fragile petals, bright colors, subtle fragrance — all this speaks to us in a language that does not require translation," the Victory Museum emphasized.
The exhibition will include about 70 paintings from the funds of the Victory Museum, as well as private collections. The inclusion of works by front-line artists will give special depth to the exhibition. In their canvases, flowers acquire their own meaning: they become a symbol of life, beauty and hope, fragile but indomitable strength. The sketch "Anemones" by Ekaterina Zernova, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, is particularly tender. In addition to Zernova's work, the exhibition will feature paintings by other front-line artists: Nikolai Khvatov, Viktor Makeev, Alexey Shikin and Arkady Plastov.
Modern authors continue this tradition, revealing the theme of beauty in a new way. They use new styles and techniques, experiment with color and composition, but retain the main thing — the belief that beauty can heal, inspire, awaken the best feelings in a person and truly save the world.
The exhibition will also feature items from the collection of the Imperial Porcelain Factory — exquisite products decorated with floral motifs, molded porcelain flowers of incredibly fine workmanship, and a set of "Own" from the Tsarskoye Selo collection. These decorative and applied art objects will complement the artistic narrative, demonstrating how eternal images of beautiful nature are embodied in ceramics. The subtlety of the painting, the nobility of the forms and the attention to detail emphasize the aesthetic value of the floral ornament, linking the traditions of the XVIII century with the modern perception of beauty.
