- Three buildings will be renovated and a new one will be built in the First City Hospital.
The renovated medical and diagnostic building of the N.I. Pirogov State Clinical Hospital No. 1 has been opened in Moscow. The plans for the next three years include the reconstruction of buildings No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5, as well as the construction of a new main building, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said in his channel in the MAX.
The comprehensive reconstruction of the First City Hospital is one of the largest projects for the modernization of Moscow healthcare, the mayor emphasized. About 120,000 patients are treated at the hospital every year, and over 40,000 operations are performed. "Our task is to maintain the highest possible level of medical care in the Pirogov State Clinical Hospital No. 1," Sobyanin said.
Surgical patients will be monitored in the upgraded medical and diagnostic building No. 8. It will work in conjunction with the Flagship Center opened at the hospital in 2024. The new building will receive its first patients in March.
In August last year, an updated Inter-District Rheumatology Center was opened in the reconstructed building No. 12 built in 1924 at the N.I. Pirogov State Clinical Hospital No. 1.
Earlier, Sobyanin announced the completion of major work on the modernization of the Botkin Moscow Art and Science Center. In July, a scientific and academic building was opened here after reconstruction.
