Mikhail Mishustin supported the introduction of a mechanism for post-payment of urban parking during a speech in the State Duma. This was reported on February 25 in the Telegram channel of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"We will submit it to the Duma this year, and then we will determine the deadlines based on the readiness of the regulatory framework," Mikhail Mishustin promised.

The Ministry of Transport, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev, has prepared amendments to the relevant law. They relate, among other things, to the introduction of a mechanism for post-payment of parking sessions. Currently, the wording of the bill is being worked out with representatives of the regions and experts.
Mikhail Mishustin noted that the issues of organization and administration of parking activities are primarily the functions of the subjects of the Russian Federation and local governments.

Earlier it was noted that the post-payment mechanism will improve the payment discipline of drivers who use paid parking lots and reduce the number of fines against bona fide car owners.

On January 27, the State Duma rejected a bill that proposed allowing citizens to park their cars for free in paid parking lots adjacent to social infrastructure facilities. According to the idea of the authors of the bill, citizens should be provided with 30-minute free use of paid parking located at a distance of no more than 100 m from social infrastructure facilities.
