In 2026, demand for interactive programs with immersive elements on trains is expected to increase due to new standards coming into force on March 1. Inna Ryndina, Commercial Director of the Russian Seasons Hotel group, told Izvestia on February 25.

The new rules for tourist trains will lead to a revision of booking conditions and participation in routes. So, according to the expert, due to the innovations, it will become more difficult to cancel tickets without loss 10 days before the trip, which may lead to a decrease in sales.

At the same time, the introduction of restrictions on re-joining the train and special rules for travel by minors will be aimed at clearly regulating internal processes. Their impact on business processes in railway tourism, as reported by Ryndina, is still unknown.

Also, as Ryndina noted, the new standards imply the appearance of themed wagons and musical accompaniment. According to the expert's forecast, the demand for interactive programs with immersive elements will increase in 2026.

"This solution will allow us to separate the flows of active travelers and tourists who prefer a calm rhythm of movement. The request for a quiet holiday format is also becoming a new part of the reality of vacations in the coming year," she noted.

Starting from March 1, 2026, new rules for booking and checking into hotels will come into effect in Russia. Uniform requirements will apply to all types of accommodation facilities, from hotels and recreation centers to campsites. It was clarified that the hotel will be required to wait for the guest during the day: from the moment of scheduled arrival until the check-out time of the next day. The hotel has no right to cancel the reservation before the expiration of this period.
