Svetlana Bolotova, an image stylist at the Ecole network of training centers, told Izvestia on February 27 about why universal classifications are not always effective and what really underlies a professional approach to image creation.

"This method of working with the external data of girls really exists and is used by individual specialists. In this approach, the types of appearance are divided into four main color types — according to the seasons. With the help of such a universal theory, every stylist can conclude which colors and shades will be complementary to each type of appearance. But this is a standardized approach, and it doesn't work that way in practice," the expert said.

She noted that first of all, when choosing a wardrobe, you should pay attention to natural data. It is necessary to look at those colors and shades that are "sewn" into the human appearance: the color of hair, skin, lips, eyes. In the iris of the eyes alone, completely unusual shades can be "sewn up" — both warm and cold at the same time. This gives you more options in choosing a wardrobe.

In addition, it is important to pay attention to a person's temperament, character, as well as their manners and social role. All these qualities play a critically necessary role in creating a suitable image for a particular person," explained the stylist-image maker.

Speaking about current trends, the expert highlighted the course towards personalization, individual approach and rejection of narrow standards. The stylist's tasks largely come down to understanding how a person lives, what he feels now, and choosing an image for him so that the external manifestation does not diverge from the inner feelings.
