The Rosneft Winter Sports Games have started in Sochi

The XIV Winter Sports Games of Rosneft have started in the Olympic Park of Sochi. Oil athletes from 34 subsidiaries of the company are taking part in them, the Rosneft press service said.

Participants will compete in such sports as cross-country skiing, hockey and biathlon.

The hockey tournament starts in Sochi on February 25. The competition will take place at the Iceberg Ice Palace. The matches will be played daily in three divisions — the Super League, the Higher League and the First League. The final will be held on February 28.

Skiing and biathlon competitions will be held at the Laura complex, which became the place of the triumph of the Russian Olympians in 2014. This year, for the first time in biathlon, shooting will be conducted not only from a prone position, but also from a standing position. For skiers and biathletes, there are men's and women's distances, as well as a relay race.

Rosneft annually holds winter and summer sports games. The competition was first held in 2005. The company supports professional and amateur sports, finances the construction of ice arenas, sports complexes and multifunctional sports grounds in the regions of its presence, and works to promote a healthy lifestyle. In 2025, almost 134 thousand employees regularly engaged in sports. At the same time, over 96,000 took part in competitions in various sports.
