The police are conducting an investigation into fraud, which resulted in the injury of an 83-year-old resident of the village of Vanino in the Khabarovsk Territory. The woman lost 1 million rubles.

According to the pensioner, she received a call from a stranger who introduced herself as an employee of the prosecutor's office. The interviewee asked if the victim had any cash. After receiving a positive response, the con artist convinced the Khabarovsk woman that the police could allegedly come to her house to withdraw money. The pensioner agreed to transfer the savings to a "volunteer," writes IA AmurMedia.

A courier girl came to the woman's apartment for money. After the transfer of funds, the pensioner tried to contact the "prosecutor's office employee" several times, but she did not answer the phone.

The criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").

In 2025, the number of cases of cyberbullying in Russia decreased by 5%.
