Trump announced full payment to NATO for American weapons supplied to Ukraine
All supplies of American weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are fully paid for by NATO. This was announced on February 24 by US President Donald Trump, speaking to Congress.
"Everything we send to Ukraine goes through NATO, and they pay us in full," he said.
The head of the White House clarified that a lot of funds are currently being transferred to the state budget. He added that Washington has "significantly more money than people think."
On February 3, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Mark Rutte, announced that almost 90% of all missiles for the air defense of Ukraine are purchased from the American side. Three days later, it became known about the approval by the US State Department of the potential sale of spare parts for their equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the amount of $ 185 million. The goods, as specified, would allegedly have a direct impact on the Ukrainian units, but would not change the existing balance of power in the region.
