A friend of actor Antonov from the TV series "33 square meters" named the cause of his death.

The cause of death of Russian actor, director and screenwriter Vasily Antonov, known for his role as grandfather in the TV series "33 square meters", was pneumonia. This was announced on Wednesday, February 25, by his friend, TV presenter Pavel Kabanov.

"As far as I know, he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. Most likely, it was COVID that he couldn't handle. As far as I know, his wife was going to visit him and talked to him the night before. They called her in the morning and said he was gone," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Kabanov clarified that his friends who communicated with Antonov helped the artist's family with money for treatment. The TV presenter clarified that he met the deceased actor on one of the joint projects.
