Witkoff named the dates of a new round of trilateral negotiations on Ukraine
Special Envoy of the US President Stephen Witkoff announced the possible start of a new round of trilateral talks between Moscow, Washington and Kiev on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict within 10 days. This was reported on February 24 by the Ukrainian TV channel Novosti Live.
"The Special Envoy announced a new trilateral meeting of representatives from Kiev, Washington and Moscow, which will probably take place over the next 10 days," the Telegram channel said.
In addition, Witkoff added that it is too early to talk about a trilateral agreement at this stage, but the delegations continue to work.
Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said on February 24 that Russia appreciates the United States' position on Ukraine and is responsible for trilateral negotiations. He also added that any agreements should be comprehensive and take into account Russia's concerns about the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis.
On February 18, the third round of closed-door talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States ended in Geneva. The head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, at the end of the meetings, called the trilateral negotiations difficult but constructive. Witkoff, in turn, shared that the parties had made significant progress during the discussions.
