The Liberal Democratic Party wants to introduce state support for companies for helping Russians to purchase housing

Deputies have developed a bill that provides for state financing of enterprises that help their employees rent or buy housing. The initiative will be submitted to the State Duma on February 25 (the text of the document is available to Izvestia).

"It is proposed to introduce a new provision in Article 15 of Law No. 488-FZ, which provides for the possibility for state authorities to introduce measures to support enterprises providing housing support to their employees," the explanatory note says.

It is noted that housing support for employees helps companies to prevent staff turnover. At the same time, the format of assistance is diverse — from compensation (full or partial) rent for the rental of residential premises to the participation of employees in preferential housing programs, for example, on the basis of corporate mortgages.

Alexander Aksenenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, said on January 19 that alternative housing purchase mechanisms such as social rental housing and construction savings banks should be developed in Russia. According to Aksenenko, the increase in mortgage interest rates against the background of the already high cost of housing is a blow not only to families, but also to the construction industry, which risks being left without buyers. The deputy stressed that it is necessary to develop other programs to support citizens in purchasing housing.
