A bus driver is awaiting trial for the death of a pedestrian in a hit-and-run in Dankovo

In the Lipetsk region, the investigation of the criminal case on the death of a male pedestrian under the wheels of a bus in the city of Dankov has been completed. This is reported by the Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The hit-and-run occurred on October 10, 2025, at a stop opposite the gas station on Zaitseva Street. According to the investigation, the 68-year-old driver of the PAZ bus crashed into a parked Niva and Renault Sandero, after which he hit a 45-year-old man.

As a result of the collision, the pedestrian received various injuries and was hospitalized. The man could not be saved, he died in the hospital.

The bus driver is charged under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of a person." The Dankov resident himself fully admitted his guilt during the preliminary investigation.

The investigation of the criminal case has been completed, and the materials have been submitted to the court for consideration on the merits. According to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the maximum sanction of this article provides for up to five years in prison, the minimum — up to four years of forced labor.
