A janitor who saved a child who fell out of a seventh-floor window in St. Petersburg was awarded the badge of distinction "For valor in rescue." This was announced on February 24 by the press service of the city government.
"Today in Smolny, Governor Alexander Beglov presented Khairullo Ibadullaev, a manual labor specialist, with the badge of distinction "For Valor in Rescue" for the courage and dedication shown in rescuing a child," the city administration said in a statement on its official website.
Beglov thanked the janitor for his act, calling it masculine, and noted that he did not think about himself, he suffered himself, but saved the child's life. According to Beglov, the whole city says thank you to the hero, such kindness is not forgotten, and the janitor's family can be proud of him.
Ibadullaev works for a cleaning company, has been working in St. Petersburg since December 2025, and lives in the Vyborg district. He is married, his wife and four daughters are in Uzbekistan. During the ceremony, the janitor also received a commemorative watch as a gift from the governor.

The child was playing near the open window, and the janitor, noticing this, shouted at him to move away. After a while, the boy fell off, but managed to grab the ledge. The child survived, but both he and the janitor were hospitalized. Izvestia has footage of the boy's fall at its disposal.
