New filming pavilions were opened at the Gorky Film Studio in Moscow on February 24. They will become a symbol not only of the rebirth of one of the legendary dream factories, but also of enormous opportunities.

The opening of the new spaces was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, and Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.

Representatives of the film industry have received the most modern infrastructure. The studio's space has increased 10-fold as a result of the renovation, and science fiction, historical dramas, and thrillers can now be filmed in the pavilions.

"This kind of emergence of new spaces — and first of all, of course, this is happening in Moscow, and first of all we associate it with the Gorky Film Studio — gives young people who come to our industry the opportunity to work in completely unique teams with unique capabilities," Lyubimova said.

The filmmakers have already noted the gigantic spaces — the height of the pavilions reaches 20 m — and the floors that can withstand even the heaviest machinery. Acclaimed projects are already being shot there.

"Opportunities have been created here, which are probably practically non-existent in Moscow today, precisely from the point of view of pavilion filming. And, I must say, there are not many points in the world that have such a brilliant infrastructure. Therefore, we are already filming the project "Veselchak U" here — the continuation of our legendary film "100 years ahead". And, of course, we will now explore these sites with great interest and look for opportunities for our new projects," said Svetlana Balanova, CEO of the National Media Group.

Now the film studio has every opportunity to attract talented authors, develop the industry and further win over the audience. Fees last year exceeded 50 billion rubles, and for the most part these are the proceeds from films shot in Russia.

Lyubimova reported on January 29 that the attendance of Russian films has increased 2.5 times in three years, reaching 100 million people per year. The Minister noted that every year more and more films with state financial support are being released nationally.
