Igor Rutko, the former head of the scientific research center of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "27 Central Scientific Research Institute" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for bribery. This was reported on February 24 in the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.
It was established that in 2015, the scientific research institute signed contracts for the development and updating of topographic maps in the amount of over 1 million rubles. Rutko was charged with the responsibility of creating a scientific group, the members of which were provided with additional payments. He received bribes from the staff of the institute. In 2022-2024, he received bribes in the amount of 30 million rubles from the institute's staff for their inclusion in the scientific group to receive payments.
The evidence collected by the Main Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was found sufficient to convict. Rutko was found guilty of accepting large and especially large bribes and abuse of official authority (Part 6 of Article 290, paragraphs "a", "c" of part 5 of Article 290 and paragraphs "d", "e" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
"The verdict of the Rutko court imposed a sentence of 11 years in prison, with a fine of 20 million, with a ban on holding certain positions for a period of eight years, with deprivation of the military rank of colonel and state awards. In addition, the court confiscated money in the amount of a bribe," the Investigative Committee of Russia said in a statement on Twitter.
On February 13, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Andrei Faleychik, ex-deputy governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, on charges of accepting a bribe. It was established that in the period from 2021 to 2023, he received funds from the director of a commercial organization for assistance in concluding a long-term lease agreement for the property complex of the Yunost children's health camp.. According to the judge's decision, Faleichik will be in custody until April 12.
